Ayton Family Foundation: Jamaica Relief Efforts

“This is personal for our family. St. Elizabeth is my mom’s home, and we’re focused on making sure relief gets to the people who need it most. This is the beginning of a long-term commitment to help rebuild stronger.”

About

Nourishment is our guiding principle at the Ayton Family Foundation. We support and implement culturally competent, community-driven initiatives that provide nourishment of mind and body, to underserved communities in the Bahamas, Jamaica and Los Angeles.

    • The Ayton Family Foundation has committed $100,000 toward Jamaica relief and rebuilding efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa.

    • Our emergency efforts are focused on St. Elizabeth Parish, where Deandre’s mother is from, and the surrounding communities that have been severely affected.

    • Initial funds were directed to Food for the Poor, The Forbes Family Foundation, and trusted local partners providing critical aid to impacted communities in St. Elizabeth and neighboring parishes.

    • The Cedar Spring Community Centre, which the foundation refurbished in July, has been activated as an emergency housing and distribution hub.

    • Essential items have been purchased locally and are being distributed to the community to address immediate needs.

    • The foundation is coordinating a shipment of essential supplies to St. Elizabeth.

    • On-the-ground partners will manage direct distribution to families, ensuring resources reach those in greatest need.

    • Supporters can donate to The Ayton Family Foundation, with funds going directly toward purchasing and shipping essential supplies.

    • Or purchase directly from our Amazon Wish List, which includes priority relief goods and supplies.

    • The foundation will continue to assess needs on the ground and deploy additional aid.

    • The remaining funds will be reserved for medium-and long-term rebuilding projects, focused on restoring homes, community infrastructure, and sustainable recovery in St. Elizabeth.v
